Chairman of the Board and Independent Director

Luis is the Chairman of Indian School of Public Policy and CORO.

Luis is a non-executive director at ManipalCigna and he is actively involved with non-profits organizations. He also serves as a senior advisor at Morgan Stanley Infrastructure and is on Chicago Booth’s Global Leaders Group.

He has also been involved with setting up two highly successful companies – HDFC Bank and IDFC Private Equity and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India

Non-Executive Director

Dr. Ranjan Pai is the Chairman of the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG), the corporate holding entity of the Group that focuses on education, healthcare and research.

Dr. Pai’s vision and dynamic entrepreneurial skills, coupled with a strong focus on innovation and implementation, have enabled the MEMG to become a major global player in the areas of education, healthcare and research.

Dr. Pai restructured the entire Group in line with the global business environment, to meet, anticipate and take on new challenges. He has played an instrumental role in corporatizing the MEMG by bringing in professionals at the management level and has taken its Education and Healthcare businesses to impressive heights, attracting private equity capital in the process.

Dr. Pai is also the President & Chairman of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education Trust, which runs the University and not for profit initiatives of the Group.

Non-Executive Director

Jason Sadler is the President of Cigna International Markets at Cigna Corporation, a global health service company dedicated to improving the health, well-being, and peace of mind of those it serves.

Sadler has successfully led Cigna’s entry in India and Turkey, and directed the acquisition of Zurich Insurance Middle East. Under his leadership, the International Markets business has doubled in size over the past six years.

He has expanded Cigna’s offering including the company’s Global Individual Private Medical Insurance business for high-net-worth globally mobile individual employees and retirees.

Non-Executive Director

S Vaitheeswaran ("Vaithee") is the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Manipal Education & Medical Group (MEMG), which oversees all the business verticals of the Group.

Vaithee joined the Manipal Group in 2011 and during the past decade has steered the group to re-structure and consolidate its dominant position in the healthcare, education, and health insurance businesses. He has championed and enabled technology led business transformation to increase group’s revenues and profits and build an organisation for the digital world.

He has initiated and successfully managed inorganic / M&A led growth across multiple sectors for the group. His deep insights on technology have helped the group to make successful investments & profitable exits through the MEMG family office in the health tech, fintech and ed tech space. His vast experience in creating large enterprises has helped Manipal Global Education (MaGE) to scale & grow the multi-disciplinary university campuses in Antigua, Dubai, Nepal & Malaysia, alongside building one of the most successful professional skilling academies for the IT & BFSI sector in Bangalore, India.

He sits on several investee company Boards providing strategic business insights as also mentoring the young Founders’ / CEO’s.

He serves on the board of the ‘not for profit’ universities’ – Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal University Jaipur and Sikkim Manipal University. His passion for education and an innate desire to create impact in the lives of young Indians has helped provide strategic direction for these temples of education. He has leveraged his experience of over 35 years in the corporate world to build industry academia partnerships and attract talent to these institutions in his capacity as a board member.

Prior to joining the Manipal Group, he has worked with the Eicher Group and Infosys.

He is a member of CII / CEO Forum and Bangalore Chamber of Industry & Commerce (BCIC). He also spends time in evangelising the cause of improving and enhancing the higher education ecosystem in India through participation in various panels and forums.

Vaithee holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management from the Institute of Materials Management and an Engineering degree from the University of Madras.

Non-Executive Director

Jerome is the Chief Executive Officer of Cigna in the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region, Board Member for Cigna’s operations in India and Turkey, and Senior Executive Officer & Chairman of Cigna Insurance Management Services Board in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

In his capacity, he is responsible for advancing the company’s operations as the premier provider of both health and wellness insurance services to individuals, groups and government entities across the MEA region, Turkey and India. In addition, he oversees Cigna’s locally regulated offices in the Middle East and Africa and the implementation of high-level strategies for ensuring the long-term profitable growth of the organization.

Jerome has an illustrious career spanning over three decades, during which time he has held various management positions in the insurance sector, across multiple geographies and businesses.

Independent Director

Rajeev Chitrabhanu is the founder of Magnetic, an advisory lead investment firm. Prior to that he was the CEO of JM Financial Services (erstwhile JM Morgan Stanley) where he build new businesses from securities lending, wealth, brokerage besides taking over 30 companies public.

Rajeev has served on the advisory board of venture capital firms such as TPG, Bessemer Venture, Kae Capital for several years.

Personally, he has a strong investment track record in consumer, tech and health-oriented companies - all of whom have gone on to raise Institutional capital and scale to leadership positions.

Independent Director

Revathy Ashok is the Co-Founder of Strategy Garage, a consulting firm focused on accelerating growth in the start-ups, mid and early stage companies through strategic advisory services. She is an active angel investor with investments in several start ups and works closely with her investee companies on strategy, growth and governance.

She has held senior leadership positions in global corporations such as Tishman Speyer, PE Fund, where she was one among top 100 global partners, worldwide CFO of Syntel Inc, a US based Nasdaq listed IT services company, first woman from India to be the CFO of a NASDAQ listed company. Revathy is an independent member on boards of several listed and public limited companies and she is also on the Governing Board of Woxsen University, a partner at Social Venture Partners (SVP) involved in venutre philanthropy supporting several social ventures.

Revathy is committed and passionate about bringing a great blend of business and community service to all her endeavours. She has won many accolades, awarded the Distinguished Alumnus Award by her Almamater IIMB for her work spanning the corporate world, entrepreneurship and philanthorpic work. Inc 42, named her as one of the leading women angel investors in the country, “Woman of Distinctive Vocation“ by Rotary, “one of top women achievers in Business” by CII, “ one of the 10 most powerful women in the Indian IT industry” by Dataquest. She is a gold medalist from IIM, Bangalore.

Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

Prasun Sikdar is the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer at ManipalCigna Health Insurance Company Limited.

Prasun has over two and half decades of experience spanning leadership roles in large and diverse organizations across BFSIs, Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Banking, and Credit cards. In this role, Prasun is responsible for overseeing growth, profitability and sustainability for ManipalCigna Health Insurance.

He has a substantial experience in the field of financial services & insurance industry along with on-the job cross functional and cross industry experience across several portfolios including Operations & Underwriting, Bancassurance, Agency, Alternate Distribution, Health Business and Sales Strategy.

Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

Prasun is responsible for overseeing the Company’s growth, profitability and sustainability. Before joining ManipalCigna, he was Group President and Global Head at Yes Bank, where he managed and grew key bancassurance and mutual fund alliances and partnerships. Prior to this he was a founding member and Senior General Manager – Chief Sales & Distribution at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. During his tenure with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, he worked across several portfolios including Operations & Underwriting, Bancassurance, Agency, Alternate Distribution, Health Business and Sales Strategy. Before ICICI Prudential Life, he has been associated with GE Capital (SBI Cards) and Citicorp. Prasun holds a master's degree in economics from the Kolkata University, and comes with a substantial experience in the field of financial services & insurance industry along with on-the job cross functional and cross industry experience.

Chief Financial Officer

Srikanth is responsible for all of the Company’s finance, internal audit and procurement functions. Before joining ManipalCigna, he was the founding member and CFO of HDFC ERGO Health Insurance (Erstwhile Apollo Munich) serving the company for the whole life cycle from conceptualisation to a final merger. During his tenure with Apollo Munich, he was conferred with the ‘Most Influential CFOs of India’ by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK in 2016. Prior to this role, he has also worked with Axis Bank and Global Trust Bank in Corporate Banking domain and other areas for eleven years. Srikanth is a fellow of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and a fellow of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and law.

Chief Distribution Officer

Shashank plays a pivotal role in driving Company’s enterprise strategy and is responsible for driving multi-channel distribution, online sales, renewal & retention & sales strategy including rewards & recognition. Before joining ManipalCigna, he was associated with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd as an Executive Vice President handling Group and Partnership Distribution business. At ICICI Prudential, he was instrumental in delivering consistent, profitable growth and leadership, across diverse roles. Shashank is an Engineer along with Post-Graduation in Marketing from one of India’s elite management college and he has deep work experience and industry knowledge in distribution channels like Agency, Banc-assurance & Alliances, Corporate Agency & Broking, Direct Marketing, Group Business, Online Sales and Sales Strategy.

Appointed Actuary and Chief Officer –Actuarial, Product, Reinsurance, Group Underwriting & Analytics

Joydeep has 18+ years of Insurance Industry experience covering various areas - Reinsurance, General Insurance and Health Insurance. As Chief Actuary of the Company, Joydeep heads the Actuarial function along with other critical functions - Product, Reinsurance, Group Underwriting and Analytics. Given his responsibilities, Joydeep plays a key role in driving Company’s long term Business Strategy. Before joining ManipalCigna, he held Key Management positions in two Specialised Health Insurance Companies. Prior to that, he has worked in General Insurance and Reinsurance domain. In one of his assignments in General Insurance Industry, he was part of the Founding Team. Joydeep is a Fellow of Institute of Actuaries of India and holds his Master’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He is also a member of Health Care Advisory Committee of Institute of Actuaries of India.

Chief Compliance & Risk Officer, General Counsel & Head Secretarial

Sameer is responsible for supporting the Company’s overall compliance, risk, legal & corporate secretarial affairs, achieving a high level of operational efficiency and ensuring adequate controls to mitigate compliance and legal risk. Before joining ManipalCigna, he has held senior leadership roles in insurance companies like Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance, HDFC Life Insurance, Apollo Munich Health Insurance, Bharti AXA Life Insurance and ICICI Lombard General Insurance. His expertise lies in setting up processes for establishing & strengthening compliance & risk framework. Sameer has rich experience in the areas of legal, compliance, internal control measures, risk management, business continuity planning and fraud monitoring function for large insurance companies in India, with an initial foundation, as an independent compliance & legal professional. Sameer is Science & law graduate; holds MBA (Finance), LLM post-graduation degree (Gold Medallist) from National Law University, Jodhpur & is also a Fellow from Insurance Institute of India (FIII).

Chief Marketing Officer

Sapna is responsible for developing and implementing the overall Marketing and Brand Strategy to drive the growth agenda for the organization. She leads the Consumer Insights, Online Sales, Brand Strategy and Media, Corporate Communication, Channel and Digital Marketing functions. Before joining ManipalCigna, she was responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for financial brands at Ogilvy Advertising, Mumbai. She has also worked across service industries; including ING Life Insurance, Indian School of Business and BPL Mobile in various marketing roles. Sapna has rich experience in all aspects of direct, mass and digital marketing besides having managed some of the largest and respected brands. She also has experience in business development and product management in the services sector. Sapna is a commerce graduate with an MBA from NMIMS, Mumbai and has been a jury member at various ADClubs, EMVIES, EFFIES, ABBYs, IAMAI & DMAi awards.

Chief Technology Officer

Sumeet is responsible to drive the technology and digital transformation agenda of the organization. Before joining ManipalCigna, he was associated with Aviva Life Insurance as Head of Information Technology where he has played a pivotal role in shaping and building future ready technology platforms. Prior to that, he has held key positions including Head of Digital Solutions and Innovation for Max Life Insurance and Associate Director of Technology and Digital - Retail and Distribution for Fidelity International. His expertise lies in Technology, Digital Solutions and Innovation areas to help modernize the legacy core insurance systems. Sumeet is an IIM B alumni and holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
