Late Penalty

An additional fee for when a policy holder doesn't make a premium payment on time.

Length of Stay

The complete number of days a patient stays in the hospital while undergoing a procedure or treatment.

Lifetime Limit

It is the upper limit on the total amount which can be claimed by the policy holder during his or her lifetime.

Lifetime Maximum

It is an insurance benefit where ManipalCigna Health Insurance pays the maximum amount for payments during your lifetime. Example:Raj’s son is suffering from multiple sclerosis. The approximate cost to care for him would be around Rs. 70,000 a month for drugs which need to be injected every alternate day. A lifetime maximum includes all care, including for maximum benefit. Raj was wise enough to go for a higher lifetime maximum limit which considerably reduced his expenses.


These are restrictions on what conditions are covered by the insurance policy.


It is a set amount/limitation on payouts for different situations which should not be exceeded.For example, if the limit on maternity coverage is Rs. 50,000, any expense over and above Rs. 50,000 is not covered by the policy.


It is an amount added to the basic premium in a policy to cover expenses for securing and maintaining operations.

Long Term Disability

Long-term disability benefit/cover protects an insured (earning member) from loss of income in the event that he or she is unable to work due to illness, injury, or accident for a long period of time.
