ManipalCigna Health Insurance Strengthens Focus in East India; Plans to Double Presence and Advisor Count
Kolkata, June 18, 2025 – ManipalCigna Health Insurance , one of India’s leading health insurance companies, is deepening its focus in East India. Currently present in 42 cities with an advisor base of over 10,000 in the eastern region, the company plans to double its retail presence, branch network, and onboard 10,000 advisors. This move follows robust growth across the region, as the company posted ₹130+ crore in Gross Direct Premium Written (GDPW) in FY25, with West Bengal contributing over ₹55 crore.
According to the latest data from the General Insurance Council (GIC), standalone health insurers posted nearly 10% Y-o-Y growth in May 2025. ManipalCigna outpaced the sector with a 43% premium growth, the highest among SAHI players, reflecting its strong regional strategy and customer-first product design.
Over the past three years, the company has paid out ₹200 crore in health claims across East India, including ₹80 crore in West Bengal alone, reinforcing its commitment to being a reliable partner in times of medical need.
