Insurance coverage that pays for medical and surgical expenses that are incurred by the insured person during the treatment of a disease or injury. Health insurance can either reimburse the insured for expenses incurred from illness or injury or pay the care provider directly.

SecureHealth Policy is a standard health insurance product developed by IRDAI and made available by ManipalCigna Health Insurance company to take care of basic health care needs of Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Persons afflicted with HIV/AIDS, and those with Mental Illness. It takes care of your hospitalization needs due to illness, injury.”

Exclusions are conditions where ManipalCigna is not liable to pay for expenses incurred by the insured person in the event of a claim. List of exclusion forms a part of Policy terms & conditions.

All Persons with Disability who have at least one of the disabilities as defined under Specified Disability under The Rights Of Persons With Disabilities Act, 2016 with valid disability certificate Or / and Individuals with HIV/AIDS as defined under the Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017, are eligible to enrol in this product.

Minimum entry age for Adult is 18 years and for children it is Newborn (0 days)

Maximum entry age for Adult is 65 years and for children it is 17 years (Children should be financially dependent).

Relationships covered are: Self, spouse, children, parents, siblings, parent in laws, grandparents and grandchildren, son in-law and daughter in-law, sister in-law, brother in-law, uncle, aunty, nephew & niece.

All the proposed Insured members are required to undergo mandatory Pre Policy Medical Check-up and/or Tele/Video MER across all ages and Sum Insured as per grid mentioned below.

For Males: SET-15 - MER, CBC-ESR, ECG, Hb1Ac, Urine Routine, Lipid Profile, FBS, Liver Function Test, Renal Functioning Test, CEA and HIV, HbsAg, PSA

For Females: SET-16 - MER, CBC-ESR, ECG, Hb1Ac, Urine Routine, Lipid Profile, FBS, Liver Function Test, Renal Functioning Test, CEA and HIV, HbsAg

We will cover hospital accommodation expenses with limit of 1% of the Sum Insured per day for room rent, and charges for stay in Intensive Care Unit/ Intensive Cardiac Care Unit with limit of 2% of the Sum Insured per day.

The applicable waiting periods are listed below:

Initial Waiting period

30 days for all claims except resulting from Accident

PED waiting period

48 months (For pre-existing diseases other than the pre-existing Disability and HIV/AIDS covered)

Specific Disease/ illness waiting period

24 months

Waiting Period for pre-existing HIV/AIDS Cover

Waiting period of 30 days will be applicable for the pre-existing HIV/AIDS covered under the policy.

Waiting Period for pre-existing Disability Cover

24 months waiting period is applicable for the pre-existing Disability covered under the policy.

The payment frequencies available are: annual, half-yearly, quarterly and monthly.

You can claim tax deduction u/s 80D as per IT Act 1961 for premium paid towards this policy. For premiums paid in cash, tax benefit u/s 80D shall not be applicable. Please consult your tax advisor for more details.

Policy will be applicable all over India. Policy will not cover any treatments taken outside India. All claims under the policy shall be payable in Indian currency only.

Yes, you can renew this policy for lifetime except on grounds of fraud, moral hazard, misrepresentation by the insured person.

Yes, all Day care treatments are covered under this policy.

The following procedures will be covered (wherever medically indicated) either as inpatient or as a part of day care treatment in a hospital up to 50% of Sum Insured, specified   in the policy schedule, during the policy period:

A. Uterine Artery Embolization and HIFU (High intensity focused ultrasound)
B. Balloon Sinuplasty
C. Deep Brain stimulation
D. Oral chemotherapy
E. immunotherapy-  Monoclonal Antibody to be given as injection
F. Intra vitreal injections
G. Robotic surgeries
H. Stereotactic radio surgeries
I. Bronchical Thermoplasty
J. Vaporization of the prostrate (Green laser treatment or holmium laser treatment) 
K. IONM - (Intra Operative Neuro Monitoring)
L. Stem cell therapy:  Hematopoietic stem cells for bone marrow transplant for hematological conditions to be covered.

No, out-patient expenses are not covered under Secure Health Policy.
